I have stayed d at the Churchill 6 times this year and evertime I look forward to coming back. The rooms are fantastic (four poster) with a huge bath and very tastefully decorated. The staff always have a welcome and pleasant greeting for you. If you want a great hotel and within walking distance of york with safe parking choose The Churchill. Good location, a small stroll to the City walls. Desk staff were lovely as were the bar staff. Prices were reasonable. Room was comfortable and well appointed. My wife and I would stay again with no hesitation.
Great hotel with the city centre at your feet. Behind the narrow acess gate lies a great hotel with great atmosphere. The small rooms are cozy and neat. Bathrooms are modern and clean. The hotel has a parking and offers breakfast, lunch and dinner. Please note that parking is 19gbp a day extra
Positive points: The Staff were very friendly, Professional and accommodating. The hotel and room were immaculate and the beds extremely comfortable. Negative points: Having to pay £18 a night to use the car park when it should be included in the price. We were disappointed that the room didn’t have any original features and was reminiscent of a Travel lodge room. The tv was above the bed which made it impossible to watch whilst in bed. ,
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I had a really lovely stay at this hotel. The room was clean, comfortable, and well looked after, and the overall atmosphere was welcoming and relaxed. What truly made the experience stand out, though, was the staff. One team member in particular went above and beyond to make me feel welcome, always greeting me with a smile and being incredibly helpful with anything I needed shout out to Henry.Their friendliness and professionalism genuinely made a difference to my stay. It’s clear they care about their guests, and that kind of service is rare to find. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to others.
Stayed here for four nights with my wife and three year old daughter in a family room. Had a great stay at the Churchill. Staff was pleasant and very nice, breakfast was lovely and the location is just perfect. If we do need to leave some remarks: I’d suggest a small fridge in the room. Also there were some cobwebs in the corner of the room and piled up dust around the tv. Because the bed is right underneath the tv, we’ve noticed it. Other than that it was just a wonderful stay and we would highly recommend it!
We booked The Churchill Hotel for our work Christmas party and reserved 14 rooms. The hotel is absolutely beautiful, and the staff couldn’t have done more for us. Each room was unique, spotlessly clean, and had incredibly comfortable beds. Breakfast was delicious, featuring local produce, perfectly cooked and served piping hot. The location was ideal too—just a 10-minute walk to the city centre. We would highly recommend this hotel and will definitely be returning. The staff truly made our stay, being exceptionally friendly and helpful throughout. Thank you!
Had a lovely stay. We had a superior room and it was called The Bunker. We had everything we needed in the room. The wet room was well equipped but the lighting could be better. The only issue with the room is there was no phone signal so only emergency calls available on our mobiles. The breakfast was well cooked and plentiful. Had a meal one of the evenings and that was lovely. All staff were lovely and informative. Thank you for a lovely stay.
